Bermuda Railway Trail
This is a short video on Bermuda Railway Trail, a scenic 18-mile walking & cycling trail. For details, go through https://www.bermuda-attractions.com/bermuda2_000036.htm Bermuda once had railways that operated between 1931 and 1948. Considering the cost of construction, it was the highest cost railways per mile in the world at that time. However, owing to the difficulty and high cost of ongoing maintenance, the railways was finally shut down and the tracks removed. The route has been later converted into a wonderful and scenic walking trail, some sections of the trail are good for cycling as well. The trail extends from Somerset at the west end to St. George at the east end. Out of the total 22-mile of the original railway route, about 18 mile is accessible on foot. Some part of the original route does not exist in Hamilton city where you need to take a detour. Most part of the trail, however, goes along Bermuda's north shore and you can get beautiful water views from several vantage points. You can get into the railway trail from a number of entry points across the island. So, depending on your location and choice, you can hike only one or several sections of the trail.
