Heritage Court is one of the premier restaurants of
Hamilton Princess hotel in Hamilton City, Bermuda. The restaurant is designed to reflect the old British heritage of the island. It's a lobby-side lounge with sofas, wooden tables, and lots of maritime paintings hanging on the walls giving it a classic look.
Meant for families, guests and business people, the restaurant is a great choice for late breakfast, lunch or dinner. They serve the daily fares between 10:30am to 11:30pm. There is also a late snack menu available till 1a.m in the morning.
As starters or appetizers, some great choices includes the Bermuda fish chowder, lobster spring rolls, Bloody Mary prawn cocktail or the sweet chili and garlic flavored pork ribs. They make fresh salads with local greens. Even the burgers and sandwiches like the Cuban pulled pork panini are excellent and available during lunch.
In main courses, some of the popular dishes includes baked local rockfish with coconut curry, Dark n’ Stormy pork ribs, and New York strip steak served with rich Béarnaise sauce. Other great chef specialties are charbroiled filet of beef with sweet butter, and pan-roasted salmon with tomato and mushroom. You can also select from one of the pasta specialties.
Heritage Court has received recognition from the New York Times for the elegant and elaborate afternoon tea that it serves between 2:30p.m to 5p.m. You get finger sandwiches, scones with Devonshire clotted cream and sweet pastries with a pot of English tea. From the British silver tea sets and Belgian fine china to Italian fine woven linens, everything about the afternoon tea is about elegance and luxury.
There is a nice bar on one side that has some excellent collections of single malt whiskeys and many other cocktails and drinks including the local Bermuda Rum. They serve champagne and wine by the glass as well.
There is a live piano played everyday in the evening on the restaurant's grand piano. One of the greatest attractions in the restaurant is the Friday evening happy hours between 5:30p.m to 10p.m. You will see a huge crowd, both locals and tourists who gather here to take advantage of both the happy hours and the classic ambience.
They offer wide selection of cigars. There is an outdoor terrace for smokers.
They accept credit cards. Reservations are not required. Dress code is smart casual.
