CLOSED: St. George's Club has closed down effective January 31st 2020. Hotelco Bermuda SGC Ltd is likely to take over the property, refurbish and renovate before opening it.
Located in St. George's and part of the St. George's Club, Griffin's is a cozy nice restaurant overlooking the harbor. Although it's a part of the club and located in the clubhouse, it's also open to public.
You will need to climb two flights of stairs from the back of the St. George's Club lobby, and as you enter the first thing you will notice is the wonderful view of the harbor as well as lovely view of the historic Olde Town of St. George with its many pastel colored houses. The ambience inside is quite stylish.
With change in manager and some staff, the service and responsiveness of the restaurant has vastly improved. Chef Piero is in charge now with his talented team in the kitchen. They use fresh ingredients and make almost everything in-house. For steaks and seafood, Griffin's is now one of the top restaurants in St. George's.
In appetizers, try out the Rock Fish Ceviche, or Tuna Tartar. You also have a choice of mussels and escargots... with white wine and garlic tastes great. In soups, good options include fish chowder (served with a dash of black rum and sherry pepper sauce) or Tuscan beans. If you are looking for salad, try out Orto (cucumber with olive oil and cheese).
Griffin's Bistro and Bar Bermuda
Now the main courses. 3 out of 5 times I'll go for Filet Mignons served with spinach and mash potato, and made to perfection. You also have great choices of steak sirloins, lamb chops, oven baked or grilled catch of the day, shrimps served on rice, and chicken in white wine sauce. By the way, Griffin's also serves pastas.
One of the best experiences here is the Chef's Table... a must try. This is where you will be accompanied by Chef Piero himself. He and his team will make some 5 to 6 course meal for you. Piero will explain every course he serves and how he prepared it.
So it becomes an informative and lively dining. And with each course a great selection of wine will be poured generously. Piero will also explain how the wine complements the course.
Griffin's has a nice bar. While you get wide range of spirits and wine, try out their cavern wine. You can take by the glass. A resident pianist usually performs on Monday and Thursday evenings.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
They accept credit cards. Reservation is recommended.
