Gulfstream has come up in its place. The look and feel is completely different but still elegant and casual. It is owned by The Dining Bermuda group which also owns Rustico and the Dining Room. Gulfstream serves several different types of thin crusted Pizzas and other Italian dishes, as well seafood and some International cuisine. It is open daily for lunch and dinner. They accept credit cards.
More than 25 years in operation, Tio Pepe is one of the well known Italian restaurants in Bermuda. It's located in Southampton right opposite to the entrance of
Horseshoe Bay Beach. Although Italian dishes are the main focus here, the restaurant prepares nice Spanish and Mediterranean food as well.
As you come to the South Road near the Horseshoe Bay, you can easily recognize Tio Pepe by its canopy shades having bright red and white stripes on them. There are two dining rooms, a bar and an open terrace in the restaurant. If you happen to visit Bermuda between September and March, ask for their special Spiny Lobsters broiled with chef's special stuffing or the Roasted Suckling Pig prepared in a Spanish style. They are really good.
The menu includes hot and cold appetizers, and main courses for both lunch and dinner. There are few vegetarian items as well including vegetarian pizzas. The are a number of pasta items and you can order some for half plates rather than ordering full plates.
There are Bermudian and imported fish items like Grilled Wahoo or Tuna (seasonal), freshly imported Rock fish (Pan fried or broiled) and grilled Atlantic Salmon. You get chicken and meat items as well. One of our favorites here is the Pollo alla Valdostana (boneless breast of chicken, topped with mushrooms and cheese). The meat and fish entrees are generally served with fresh vegetables and potatoes.
Or alternatively you can request them to serve it with spaghetti in tomato or cream sauce, or tossed in butter. Remember breads and salads need to be ordered extra. Tio Pepe also has a take out menu. So if you are planning to pack your lunch on your way to a South Shore beach, this can be a great option.
While the wine selection is limited, Tio Pepe serves wine by glasses or bottles. You get other drinks including Rum Swizzle (by pitcher) or Rum Punch. If you are a smoker, you can use the open terrace for smoking.
