Although there are many small IT service providers in Bermuda, the large clients with their own IT departments prefer to have their own IT personnel. So with the above gap, there is always an ongoing demand for expatriate IT professionals in Bermuda. Compared to the jobs in several other professions, IT jobs offer higher remuneration.

If you have a recognized bachelor or a higher degree along with several years of relevant experience in a multinational or a global company, you can expect an annual package starting from $75,000 for an IT Architect role or similar. With higher positions like IT Project manager or IT Director, the salary package can be substantially higher.
But like any other jobs, if a qualified Bermudian is available, then he or she will always be given a preference. Only after ensuring that a local skill is not available, will a job be offered to an expatriate who will need to secure a
work permit to work in Bermuda.
Most of the insurance and re-insurance companies, banks and other legal and accountancy firms have their own IT functions or departments. They often advertise for IT jobs with different positions.
Update October 2016: Employment in Bermuda's ICT sector in 2015 was 2.1% of the total employment in the island. The percentage figure was the same in 2014.
The IT positions or job roles that are quite common in Bermuda include the following:

Hi Raj, I have a Masters in computer science and was offered a job in Bermuda for 122K per annum. I have over 10 years of IT experience, with approximately 3 years in the area required for the job. Is this a marketable salary and would I be able to living comfortable and save at least 3.5K - 4K per month on this salary ? I urgently need your advise. I appreciate hearing from you. Best regards

In IT, it's an 'okay' salary for your level of experience, but can easily be higher. If you are alone, you can save 3-4K per month provided you do not indulge much into outside food, pubs etc. Cheers!
