Little Pomander Guest House Bermuda
Hotel Category: $, Location: Paget Parish
This bright pink colored guest house is one of the oldest buildings in the island. Little Pomander was constructed some 400 years ago. Located in Paget Parish and quite close to Hamilton City, this guest house sits on a quiet one-way residential street that edges along a narrow inlet of Hamilton harbor. From the rooms, garden and terraces, you get a wonderful view of the harbor.
The
Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) can also be seen from this property across the waters. The backside of the cottage has a lawn overlooking the town across the water. There are lawn chairs set out and there is a provision for barbecue. Rooms have wi-fi internet access.
Little Pomander Guesthouse
While the rooms are slightly aging, all 5 rooms are clean and quite spacious. The rooms come with private bathrooms, cable TVs, microwave, fridge, telephone, clock radio and air conditioning. Most of the rooms have views of the water. some rooms have fireplaces.
The house has a large garden and summer terrace where you can sit on chairs, relax and watch the boats and cruise ships pass by in Hamilton Harbor.
Simple Continental breakfast (like coffee, bagel, toast etc) is included as part of the rate and is served in the common dining room. The dining room is nicely furnished with floral patterned curtains and upholstered chairs.
Nearby places include the Pomander Gate Tennis Club which is just a short walk away, the manor house
Waterville in a plush garden setting which is the head quarters of Bermuda National Trust, the
Botanical Gardens, and
Paget Marsh. There are two nearby cycle rental shops: Eve’s Cycles and Oleander Cycles.
Elbow beach and the
Belmont Hills Golf Club are about a 5 minute drive from the guest house. Credit card is accepted for payments.
My overall opinion
Little Pomander was not probably built to make it a guest house. It's more of a converted guest house, so you get a homelike feeling. But there are signs of aging and it requires some refurbishing to be done. Some fixtures and furnishing need to be changes or upgraded.
Otherwise with its great location, Pat as a nice host, a wonderful view of the harbor from the back side lawn, it's a good value for money. After all it's close to Hamilton city.
