CLOSED: Greg's Steakhouse closed down In October 2010. It was one of our favorites as well as to the locals. The co-owner Greg Wilson said that he was unable to continue the operation due to economic slowdown in the island. The restaurant has been put up for sale.
Located at the corner of Church Street and Parliament Street in Hamilton City, Greg's Steakhouse is the only real steakhouse that we could find in the island.
As you enter Greg's Steakhouse Bermuda, you will see interesting artwork collections from the local artists on display on the walls. The ambience is warm and inviting with jazz music playing in the background.
It’s a great pleasure to watch the culinary skills of Colin Lloyd, the chief chef and the co-owner of Gregs Steakhouse Bermuda and his team in an open-flame kitchen.
You get perfectly aged, certified Angus beef grilled to exact specifications. These are the great steaks one looks for when you want just steaks for your meal and nothing else.
You can choose from filet mignon, T-bone, rib eye, or New York strip. There is a wide choice from the sides like mashed sweet potatoes, asparagus with hollandaise, peas and rice or butter-sautéed spinach.
Apart from beef, there are several other wonderful choices here, including traditional rack of lamb, double cut pork chops and Cajun-seasoned Norwegian salmon.
The menu at Gregs Steakhouse Bermuda also offers plenty of international flair with fish, pasta, and vegetarian dishes. There is a wrought iron staircase that leads to the upper floor and there is a great Sushi bar here which is also very popular in Bermuda.
Earlier this used to be only a Bar and Lounge area which was turned into a full range Sushi bar in 2007 by the owner Greg Wilson.
The bar and lounge was not running well earlier and he asked his staff what to do with the upper floor area. On their suggestion, he turned it into a great Sushi Bar.
The sushi chef Alex Guilas comes from the Philippines and has worked for the Holiday Inn, Marriott and Sheraton chain of hotels in US and Canada, and has a big following for his cuisine across the Island. As you can see, Gregs Steakhouse offers nice variations.
Here is one more - there is champagne Sunday brunch buffet with a great dessert menu. Main courses at Gregs Steakhouse Bermuda typically cost from 14$ to 18$. However, special menu can cost to the tune of 55$.
They accept credit cards. Reservations are recommended on weekends. Dress code is smart casual.
